Israel and Gaza

The war now raging in Israel and Gaza is already traumatising hundreds of thousands of children who will bear the scars long into the future. As a humanitarian organisation we condemn violence and the infliction of suffering upon innocent children on both sides. As our partner Firefly International says in its update ‘Children don’t start wars’ . Neither do they deserve punishment for the actions of their parents.

In Gaza, half the population of 2.4 million are children. We understand that the child trauma clinic we support with our partners IMET2000 and Firefly International is in an area that has been totally destroyed and we are in constant fear for the safety of its staff. We hope and pray that the killing can be brought to an end soon and a route to lasting peace brokered by the international community.

The photograph featured is the tower block in which our clinic was housed prior to May 2021, when it was destroyed in the bombardment of that year. It was subsequently relocated.
